Ultrafast Lasers at Fraunhofer ILT

High spatial resolution, low heat entry into components, high flexibility: Ultrafast lasers are suitable for precise structuring of surfaces due to many advantages.

Laser drilling processes can be used in many different ways in industry, e.g. in the aerospace industry, in the lighting sector, in the automotive industry or in electronics and display technology.

A promising field of application for ultrafast lasers is laser cutting and ablation of materials that are difficult to machine, such as CFRP, at high speeds and with high precision.

Fraunhofer ILT is developing beam sources for ultrafast lasers that provide application-specific optimized wavelengths, powers or pulse frequencies.
